White House Shares New Sabrina Carpenter ‘SNL’ Clip Following Singer's Criticism of Her Music in ICE Deportation Video

The White House released a fresh video featuring Sabrina Carpenter following her criticism over a previous post that paired her song "Juno" with ICE enforcement footage. The new clip highlights a promotional segment for her October appearance on Saturday Night Live, where Carpenter jokingly told cast member Marcello Hernndez, "I think I might need to arrest someone for being too hot." In the White House version, "too hot" is replaced with "illegal," followed by a montage of ICE detentions.

The accompanying caption read: PSA: If youre a criminal illegal, you WILL be arrested & deported.

Earlier, Carpenter condemned the use of her music in the original video, calling it "evil and disgusting" and warning against using her work to support what she described as an inhumane agenda. Her statement placed her among several artists who have opposed the unauthorized use of their music in politically charged content.

Following Carpenter's objection, White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson responded, emphasizing that no apology would be issued for deporting individuals described as dangerous criminals. She added a pointed remark about those defending such individuals.

This incident echoes prior objections by artists over similar uses of their music. In October, Kenny Loggins criticized the use of his song "Danger Zone" in an AI-generated video featuring Donald Trump. Likewise, Olivia Rodrigo protested when her song "All-American Bitch" was used in a video encouraging undocumented immigrants to self-deport.
