Trump Criticizes CNN's Kaitlan Collins as 'Always Stupid and Nasty' and Misspells Her Name

Donald Trump launched a morning attack on CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins, calling her always stupid and nasty while incorrectly spelling her name. The criticism came after Collins asked questions regarding the cost of his proposed White House ballroom expansion.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote: Caitlin Collins of Fake News CNN, always Stupid and Nasty, asked me why the new Ballroom was costing more than initially estimated a year ago. I explained it will be twice the size, with the highest quality finishes and interiors. The column span has also been enlarged for better viewing. The project is actually under budget and ahead of schedule, fully funded by private donations. FAKE NEWS CNNs leadership is among the worst, and their ratings are so low they hardly matter. MAGA!

This comment followed Collins December 4 episode of The Source with Kaitlan Collins, where she mentioned that the White House had hired a new architect after Trump reportedly clashed with the original one. During the episode, Collins aired a clip from her interview with Trump at the John F. Kennedy Center, in which she asked about a recently created Peace Prize from FIFA, rather than the ballroom project.

Trump also defended demolishing the historic East Wing to make room for the ballroom. He told reporters in October: After extensive consultation with top architects, we decided to remove the East Wing rather than preserve a small section. The original structure had been heavily altered over the past century, including column removals and additions in 1948-1949. The building was no longer in its original state.

He continued: The East Wing was a small building and preserving it would have limited the creation of a costly and beautiful new space. The ballroom will be one of the finest in the world, with a budget of around $300 million.
